If you are changing a timing belt on a 2JZ, we highly recommend changing this tensioner as well.
Since the 2JZ is hydraulically tensioned, these can fail over time. If the tensioner fails, you risk skipping teeth on your timing gears!
In order to keep you engine running well and without risk of unexpected failure, consider replacing you current tensioner with another quality OEM one.
